Re: Here's my '76 Ranger XLT Crew Cab 4x4 Project truck

image.jpeg Finally got my log in mess sorted out, took nearly two years to be able to log back in. Not much new really other than changing out the bent grill shell for a straight one, rebuilt and painted the grille guard, installed some more side trim, swapped the original mirrors for camper mirror...

Re: Here's my '76 Ranger XLT Crew Cab 4x4 Project truck

Your dads truck has the same antenna mount and its in the same location as mine is. I am confident the passenger spotlight (6") will hit the antenna looking at those pics... Curious if your dads will hit it if its put down on cowl? I still haven't decided yet in what I want to do with the light...

Re: Here's my '76 Ranger XLT Crew Cab 4x4 Project truck

Here is a pic of the twin stick set-up that is in a '70 F250 4x4 with a Detroit 453 diesel... the guy who sold me the overdrive. My tentative plan is to replicate this set-up with both sticks being the same height and similar appearance... Eventual long term plan is to couple the overdrive & NP4...

OK... here are the pics of the spotlights... Take note of the antenna style and where it's mounted. http://s5.postimg.org/ytehhvv2f/spotlight11.png http://s5.postimg.org/o7um5voqv/spotlight1111.png My antenna is mounted further out towards the side of the cowl... http://s5.postimg.org/7onrdhnuv/phot...

Re: Here's my '76 Ranger XLT Crew Cab 4x4 Project truck

Those are the 5" lights... Model 250GM. I have the 6" lights model 225GM. I'd love to see the passenger side when u get a chance to look at it again. I found pics of a truck that was on eBay that had the 6" bulb lights and it had an antenna on the cowl, but the antenna was mounted fur...

Re: Here's my '76 Ranger XLT Crew Cab 4x4 Project truck

Yea I think I did get that answered... My best guess from looking at some pics of an eBay truck with the 6" lights puts it right in line with my radio antenna. If I decide to run the spot lights, ill have to remove the antenna from the cowl, plug the big hole with a rubber plug and do the same ...

Re: Thinking about a Crew Cab restoration

Thanks for the info everyone. It sounds like putting together a truck the way I want it is pretty feasible. I am also now very curious about using a smaller diesel engine (5 to 6 L) for the fuel savings. I had a 390 in my 75 and loved it to death, but at 11 mpg, might be time to be a bit more... re...

Re: Head Liner

OP Still need pics? Just finished installing these today. My center bar that's made of plastic has some broken pieces missing from the back edge, but it still holds tight. Was it an 80's Dodge van piece that fit as a replacement?? Has anybody done this part yet? Have any pics? http://s5.postimg.org/...

New Headliners

Built new headliners for it last night, finished installing them this morning. They turned out really nice, I'm very pleased with the end result. The backing board is 1/8" fiber board from Home Depot, the vinyl is from the local fabric store, and a can of 3M adhesive to stick it together. http:...
