Re: 77 Crewcab Build

Looking good. I agree on the boat cleats. They are an acquired taste. One that I have yet to acquire. :? I'm having a real hard time talking myself into leaving them and saving myself the headache of filling those holes. The fact that they're factory Ford parts makes it's a bit easier to tolerate, ...

Re: 1972 Ford Ranger Pickup 4D

I like it. Can you imagine this thing when it was brandnew? Parked next to a Mercury Marquis Colony Park decked out in brown with the full wood treatment in the carport of a mid century modern house in the burbs, getting ready to take the family of bellbottom/big collar wearing folks out to the equ...

Re: 1972 F350 Crew Cab

I agree, pretty solid for the price and fairly complete. The rust it does has is not really in any of the important crewcab specific places and can be fixed with a parts truck or patch panels. Not the prettiest truck I've seen, but I've seen shiney trucks that were in worse shape on close inspection.

Re: 77 Crewcab Build

Progress has been made, although I did find 2 more dents I never noticed before LoL. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50659592507_e61849c13b_b.jpg 20201128_203304 by Patrick Oilnut , on Flickr Getting close to being ready for primer on this side. I'm not a big fan of the boat cleats, but I'm not ...

Re: 77 Crewcab Build

I forgot to take pics of it, but I got all the race track mounting holes welded up in the bed and it's ready for the final filler work. I was thinking about metal finishing it, but again with this entire project it's not about showing off it's about making a functional work truck so I decided to pre...

It's weird. I'd pay 300 bucks for that kind of oddballness.

Re: 1972 Ford Ranger Pickup 4D

There was a point I'd have laughed and kept going, but with the value hikes these are seeing I would say that is probably not a bad starting point for what you get.

That is definitely a rotisserie kinda resto tho. Gonna get real good cutting patch panels!

Re: 1971 Bronco project

Haha yeah they certainly are a puzzle.

I've never done a Bronco tub from a box, but I've done a couple Jeeps and a Camaro. New is nice, but it sure is a lot of work when you don't have the Big Three's assembly line to help!

Don't you love UPS? 2 day air somehow turns into 5 days and ground is anytime between now and next year.

Re: 1976 Highboy on Bring a Trailer

You're right Patrick. It's really amazing to see how vehicles that seem to go from neat, but nothing out of the ordinary to high dollar collector's items. It's funny how many vehicles I've owned that I thought were cool but weren't worth much and now I wish I could find! Especially stuff like the o...
