Soon to be starting a new project. I love the old and the reliability of the new. So I'm going to put a 76 Crewcab body on a F550 4x4 chassis with a 7.3, auto. The truck will have a utility box and custom front and rear bumpers, superduty firewall, dash, and seats. I plan to use the truck for my work/personal truck. Can't wait to get started. Just about done gathering pieces and ready to start the build.

Stay tuned, Ron :D :D :D

I'll try to get some pix of the PILE-O-PARTS of the project before and during the build. In the past I've alway got so wrapped up in the build that I forgot to take pix. Can't wait. getting the front axle this week. We've got a couple of project to finish up before this one.

Ron :D :D :D

Sorry guys. Took a little longer than I thought to collect parts and can't exactly figure out how to post pics here. Don't have troubles elsewhere??? Got the Super 60 under the front last weekend and Sonnux sure cure kit in the 4r100. Put a wicked wheel in the stock turbo with a Banks power elbow. Hope to get the 7.3 and the trans put in this weekend and start fitting the Superduty firewall into the 76 Crewcab. I've got some pix and will get somemore if someone can help out with the posting problem?? Hope the build goes a little faster than the collection process.LOL

This truck sounds wicked! This is the kind of build I wish I could do. I have also been looking forward to seeing some pics of your project.

When I first started posting on here, I couldn't figure out how to get pics on the forums either. Since I could post them in the Members album section, I was confused why I couldn't get them loaded on the forum.

I realized that the image size was to big. Crackpot has a link to resizing software on a post in the News and Information section, titled "How to resize an image for upload to the site"

It's free, downloads in seconds and is simple to use. Once you load a pic, you can resize it so that it'll fit on the forum. ;)

Hope that helps, can't wait to see some pics of that Super-Duper duty!

Anything to help a fellow crew cab junkie. :)

I found this truck online. He built a truck on a suberduty chassis too but his is a 72 crew . I think it turned out nice.

Still can't wait to see yours!

Looking forward to this one Bluenight.... Here's a vague- dumb question for all of us who would like to put our classic sheetmetal on a modern frame and drivetrain... Where do you guys get your donor (late model) truck? It wouldn't have to be a 550.... a 250 would do the job... In my case, I'm so deep ($$) into my stock 79 crew that to set just the body over onto a different truck, the newer truck would have to be VERY cheap... so dummy me asks, where do you get such a cheap truck? An insurance total? an auction? Repo?? I'm nowhere near doing this, but.... ;-)
