I painted the engine bay with a semi gloss black. Then we coated it with a aftermarket spray on product that has the same color and sheen, but also has some texture to it.

Here it is in all glory.

Nice progress.

Seeing your post tonight reminds me of the stuff I told my body shop I'd bring over on Wednesday for my mustang project. I didn't get around to doing anything in the garage tonight, so I guess I'll have to knock it all out tomorrow night.

We've been working on the Ranchero a little lately and got the engine in. Hooked up the exhauset, Put in the new MSD control box and new fuse pannel and started wiring. We stuck the original radiator in it to get an idea for fitment of the new unit we are ordering from Ron Davis. It's starting to come together. We hope to have it running and ready to go by the time the weather turns nice.

What kind of carburetor is that you're running there? ;)

I'm curious. Did you just drop in the engine or the engine & transmission at the same time? (It looks like you did just the engine) I'm a couple of week out from putting the engine and transmission back in my car. I figure using the front ring is best for both together since it'll provide a natural tilt. I welcome your input.

Thanks Trent. Should look good once we get the carb and air cleaner on it.

We put the Engine and trans in as a unit. We used the middle ring on the plate. With the trans on, it worked fine.

Here are a few pics of the engine bay after I installed some wire loom. Trying to keep it clean and simple under the hood.
