Collector's fleet lost to barn fire!

Postby 68Mercury250Ranger » Tue Mar 26, 2013 1:54 am

I know i haven't been on here for a long time but this news is too painfull not to share.

I got a call at work tonite that there was a barn fire at the farm............. i lost my entire stored fleet, not insured!
68 Merc was fully insured and my 72 Bronc was (but under aprraised so I could daily drive in the summer)

i went back after working late and its a complete loss, allthe goodstuff was inside, junk was out in the weather. not a good day. nobody was injured, got a bit of a scare when the ambulance came rushing up as I was heading back to work, but they only put dad on O2 and monitored him for a while, notrip to the hospital.

all my mint crewcab stuff was lost including my 71 F250 crewcab special w/factory buckets.

2 crews saved because they were not mint weremy 72 highboy , andmy 70 F250 2wd partstruck.
sure puts a fire under my ass(pun intended) to get it going.

i'll post some pics of the devastation if I can get back on here. allmy good toys are gone!

cheers James

Sorry to hear about your losses that crew cab special sounds interesting haven't seen any crews with the factory bucket seats in. I've seen one that used to have factory buckets but the owner replaced them with newer dodge neon srt4 seats I'd like to see pics of the trucks see how bad of shape they are

Damn James sorry to hear this. That totally sucks. The good thing is that nobody was hurt. Hope your dad is doing better.

Sorry to hear. I know nothing can replace them...for most of use its not a money thing. Hopefully you'll be able to restore them. I know I talked with my auto insurance about fire damage and my vehicles aren't covered sitting in the garage at home...but my Home Owners does cover them to their appraised value. Good luck, again sorry for the loss.

Well I worked up my courage to do a walkaround this afternoon and snapped few.
I have them on Fordtough.ca so if this link doesn't work you can go there and see it in the albums.

http://www.fordtough.ca/forums/album.php?albumid=582

a good friend is going to help in the cleanup, he has access to some heavy equipment for picking out the building pieces and trying to salvage all we can.
he was actually along on probably 50% of the trips I made south to build my collection.

nobody was injured!
my dad can't get himself together to even go and look at it, and its right outside his door.
I think he feels worse for me, because of all the stuff I lost. i'm lucky to have my wonderfull wife and kids to help me through this. my 9yr old daughter wouldn't let go of me until she was ready when i had to go to work this afternoon.

i'll get some more pics...............
cheers James

Also do you know what might have caused the fire to start?
