Sometimes the best solution is to throw money at it.
Let someone else take care of it so that you can keep everything else moving.

Oddly, I'm going this route to NOT throw money at it LoL

I have 2 4r70w's I thought about swapping in. But it's more time and money, and I will do the swap at some point but with everything else going on right now I just want this thing to drive around.

The easier part is true, although it still pains me to pay someone else to build a C6 which is a simple trans and one I can easily do. But unless I get more than 24 hours in a day......

Turns out I might do the 4r70w swap after all.

No local trans shop is really interested in rebuilding the C6. I stopped by and talked to a shop I've used before and the guy starts arguing with me about the whole thing and told me I'd need more than 1 core and none of those will be any good anyway. Ummm, what? You haven't seen or torn down any of these and you already know they're all junk? Yeah. Ok buddy.

I've done C6's before so I could do it again, I just don't have the space or time which is why I just wanted to pay someone to fix it.

TCI offers a no core FE C6 outright, but with the trans, converter, tax and what have you it's 1650. The adapter and trans controller for the swap is 1800 (plus whatever misc stuff comes up like drive line work, shifter adapter, etc which I figure will be around another 500-650).

Still rolling around the options, but if I have to build the C6 myself I might as well spend the time to put the 4r70 in it is sorta the way I'm looking at it. The point of just doing the C6 again was it takes me 15 minutes to drop it off and I can spend the next week doing stuff that makes money instead of spending it.

Exactly what I meant before. Incredibly annoying when it doesn't work out and you have to end up doing the work yourself (that you don't have the time or the space for) anyway

After everything else thats going on I decided to just build another C6 and run the thing for now. Cost wise it's pretty close to what it'll cost me to do the 4r70w swap, but I just don't want to spend the time working out all the little details right now. I still haven't pulled the 4r70w out of the parts van yet!

Should have the trans done middle of next week if all the parts show up on time so if all goes well by next weekend I should be driving it again.

Still going to do the OD trans swap, but it needs to wait until I've got a dozen other things out of the way and have room in the shop for it.

Sounds like a good plan. No sense in having it non-op while it waits for it's turn in the shop.

Got the C6 freshened up and replaced the bad sprag/race and drum. Threw a Hughes 2k stall converter in it and it's in and driving. I Replaced the old cooler hardlines with stainless braided PTFE hose and JIC fittings in the trans. Not sure if I'm going to keep it this way yet, but for now I bypassed the rad cooler and I'm just running the air to oil I added when I first got the truck running.

If everything is good after a few more days of driving I'm going to swap my good valvebody in it and put a black stripe modulator on it and run it until I get around to the 4r70 swap.

I did pick up a GearVendors from a local guy, but I'm not sure if it'll fit with the aux tank. I may put it on Sandford which would let me re-gear it much lower which would be great in since it's so heavy already.
