Has anyone here installed (or heard of anyone installing) a "pull-flat" rear bench (A-la the International CXT, which pulls flat to make a bed) in an OFCC? It's a mod I always thought would be pretty cool, especially for road-tripping. I know there's not alot of room back there, and the front bench would probably have to be all the way forward for it to happen, but perhaps with a specialty rear bench it could be done.

I was thinking that because of space constraints, one might have to use a rear bench with a shorter seat, and make it work. I.E., take the rear bench seat out of a 93-96 F-250 extended cab, and perhaps, one could modify a futon's hinge mechanism to work with it. The shorter "seat pan" of the extended cab bench would provide more back seat leg room without sacrificing too much comfort, and when pulled flat might still fit in the space available.

On this topic, could someone with an OFCC get out their tape measure and get me some measurements? I'm looking for measurements from the back of the front bench to the inside rear of the cab, at roughly seat pan height. (Measurements with both the front seat all the way forward, AND all the way back). If I get those measurements, I can measure my 97 F-250's rear bench cushions and find out if this idea would even fit. And if it does, I just so happened to inherit a free futon from a friend.....

Anyone happen to know if any other (modern) crew cabs have a similar pull-flat rear bench?

So what is that seat from? kind of looks like 90s econoline material but..........

does it tilt forward also?

I had a brainstorm of one similar in the back of a 4door Bronco with a pop up 4wheeler camper making it possible for the whole fam damily to go along.

cheers James
