1979 Ford Factory CB Radio

Postby Turner1978Ford » Thu Aug 04, 2011 11:02 am

I have the complete wire harness and all for the Factory CB. I even have the Manual for it. Does any one have the instructions for the install? I don't know where the control box and wires go. Thanks

Ok thanks! It is going into one of my cc. So I will put it under the front seat I guess. I just want it to be as factory as possible. I have wanted one of these for a long time and finally got one. I think it will be a nice piece to add to this truck.

Not that it matters much but the CB option was not available in a CC thus it won't be factory. Do you have the antenna for it as well?

I am sorry that I made it sound like it was suppost to be factory in the cc. I meant I would like for it to look as factory as possible. I have always liked these trucks that way. But It has to have a little lift for me. Most people I know have never seen a factory cb for these trucks.

Ohh and I forgot! Not I don't have the antenna for it. That is the only piece I am missing.

You can get an adaptor to run the factory CB from Radio Shack and use a regular CB antenna while still retaining the rest of the OE stuff.

This is what the factory antenna looks like:

I also was fortunate enough to find an NOS mic:

I also have the complete install instructions direct from Ford. For $15.00 I would mail you off a copy. You can paypal me at Ranger429@mchsi.com if your interested.

I've collected quite a bit of CB stuff for this era.

Sorry, I'm not looking to sell an antenna. It took me to long to find them and they are by far, I think, the rarest item to find.
