What the hell is a crew cab special and what is that thing in between the doors on the top by the driprail?

Some trucks had Crew Cab with special under the emblem and some just said CrewCab. My 77 emblems also say CrewCab Special. No one has ever been able to give me a verifiable answer as to what on the truck caused it to get the CrewCab Special emblem.

Not sure what that is between the doors, but it looks like it was a bracket for something.

That is a pretty fair price I think. If it really is a 428 that is worth almost half the asking price. Good 428 blocks that aren't pin holed or have thin bores are getting pretty scarce these days.

This one reminds me of my first crew cab. Mine had been green but was painted white on the exterior by the time I became the owner.
