Rear doors

Postby PACrewCab » Tue Aug 23, 2016 10:02 am

Well I'll start this "new" Bull nose section off. Do the rear doors from a Bullnose fit up to the OBS body style? They look the same physically but who knows with ford.
As an example, I parted out a 2003 F150 extended cab recently. I found out that the doors from that truck physically look the same as the doors on the 4 door F150 models and the expeditions but they are actually different. The front doors on the 4 door F150 are an inch different in overall size compared to the front doors of the extended cab. The exterior door handles on an expedition are in a slightly different location from the doors on the extended cab truck. Leave it to ford to make things difficult. :?

Yeah I never liked the look of that.

When I was a kid, I thought they were nifty until I found out they didn't open like a regular wing-window. I didn't get the point.
I wonder if it had to do with using a front door window regulator or something along those lines.

Very possible but also very unlikely that Ford would actually try to use the same part for two different applications. They like to make things difficult for us... :x
