I'm a bit surprised that it got bid so high, and also that it didn't meet reserve.
Very Leary when the description tried to pawn it off as all original and freshly repainted. Seller claims "TRUCK WAS ON A FARM MOST OF ITS LIFE IN OREGON." I ask, which part of the truck? The cab?
The bed is a later model, 78/79 grille, mix-matched panels all around it appears. VIN (Warranty) tag completely missing from the door. No word on what VIN it carries, or IF it's even titled as an F26 (4x4) or not.
When you look close you see how hasty the paint job was, with over-spray, Maaco type finish all around. Same sloppy attention around the engine bay, as if a rattle can of blue was going to help. At least they taped off the valve cover sticker (partially)..
The whole thing screams "lipstick on a pig".
With that said, it looks like a pretty solid truck. But when a seller tries SO hard to pretty up something, It really makes be wonder about the quality of the rest of the build. Not to mention mechanical and paperwork problems that will ensue.
Would have much rather seen this truck sell it it's fresh out of the field state. Missing/damaged parts and all.
