Craigslist now charging $5 per ad

Postby OrthmannJ » Mon Apr 29, 2019 9:51 am

Well, now that Craigslist is charging $5 per ad to list a vehicle our pool of trucks to post on here is bound to dry up some.

I'm bummed because I think many of the cheap rigs aren't going to be listed now. There are a number of vehicles I have found recently that were hours away from me, but ones that I would be seriously interested in if my boys were a tad older and closer to driving age. Now I'm afraid those deals aren't going to be easily found when I finally reach that stage.

That, plus the fact that the "Online trucks for sale" is the only thread on here that really has much activity. :|

Can you renew the ad or is it until it expires?. They’re going to make some cash off that but I think you’re right some of the lower end stuff will disappear and the places we used to search are pretty much gone.

It will be interesting to see what happens with this. Either people will still pay because it's a good value in advertising, OR a lot of the lower priced stuff will go old skool and the "Nickel and Dime" will make a comeback.

Either way I'm sure it'll hurt the Ads forum here. It might help my every growing inventory.....

What?! Craigslist bowing to the almighty dollar? For so long they've tryed so hard to keep people away from paying customers, maybe now craigslist will FINALLY allow you actually search its entire site.

Wow, you guys were right. Ads have pretty much halved on Craigslist.
Shame. :(

Pretty much what I expected. Bummer really. But, such is life. Brings to mind the phrase "well, that was fun while it lasted"
